MSUFCU’s Foundation Celebrates Three Years of Investing in the Community
EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSU Federal Credit Union’s (MSUFCU’s) foundation, Desk Drawer Fund, celebrated its third anniversary April 1, 2022.
The Desk Drawer Fund launched in April 2019 with the mission to empower employees, members, and other businesses to contribute to a universal well-being by investing in our local communities and helping them flourish.
Since its inception, the Desk Drawer Fund has donated more than $800,000 to hundreds of organizations in the communities we serve. This impact is possible because of donations from individuals and organizations looking to make a difference in the communities MSUFCU serves.
In 2021, MSUFCU extended its membership eligibility to all Desk Drawer Fund donors. Individuals seeking membership with the Credit Union may donate at least $10 to the Desk Drawer Fund to qualify for MSUFCU membership.
“We are committed to making a positive impact on our members and communities by helping them achieve financial security, and ultimately, their dreams,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU President/CEO and Interim President of the Desk Drawer Fund. “Through the Desk Drawer Fund, we further the Credit Union’s philanthropic support to expand financial literacy and strengthen local arts, housing, youth, and entrepreneurial organizations.”
The Desk Drawer Fund is a foundation supporting the MSUFCU and Oakland University Credit Union communities. It provides community-oriented opportunities for members, employees, and businesses to contribute to the public wellbeing through five philanthropic pillars — arts and culture, stable housing, empowering youth, financial education, and fostering entrepreneurialism.
