Credit Union employees work together each year to select and support local charities throughout the various communities MSUFCU serves. Employees come together to fundraise in a variety of ways to help support organizations vital to our communities’ success. MSUFCU’s employee 2021 fundraising efforts included virtual runs/walks, dress down days, and more. In addition to donating funds to local organizations, employees also volunteered their time and talents.
Credit Union employees selected these 2021 charity partners:
In the first quarter, employees raised funds for REACH Studio Art, a Lansing-based studio art center offering programs dedicated to mentoring youth, urban revitalization, and strengthening community.
In the second quarter, fundraising efforts focused on Salus Center, based in Lansing. Founded in 2017, Salus serves Lansing’s LGBTQIA+ communities as a gathering space and information hub.
New Hope Pet Rescue in Charlotte was the organization supported in the third-quarter. This organization is committed to helping people and animals in need. Its mission is to provide a means to place unwanted, adoptable animals into appropriate, loving homes.
MSUFCU closed out the year with fourth-quarter fundraising for Firecracker Foundation in Holt. This organization provides comprehensive services to child survivors and their families, and community education by creating a holistic, safe space for the community to support children, families, and advocates.
The Capital Area United Way benefits from MSUFCU’s fundraising efforts as well. The Credit Union donates a portion of the proceeds from its dress down days each quarter, and the Capital Area United Way also receives funds through the Credit Union’s annual payroll deduction campaign to support United Way.
